Quoting Coach Beckett:
On playing at JSU
"It was a all-time thrill for the players to get to dress in their locker room and play on that turf. JSU has a really nice stadium after the new additions. I thought we played on a high level, in part, because of the surroundings."
On Donoho
"They have won 13 of their last 15. They went to the quarterfinals last year. They know how to win."
QB
"Donoho has scored 30 or more in each game this season. The offense starts with quarterback Marshall Ghee. He has a strong arm and is very good. He went to the Manning Quarterback Camp for top-notch quarterbacks."
Skill
"Running back Justin Foster is very good and Chris Carr is a big play receiver."
Coach Felder
"Coach Felder is as fine a coach as there is in 1A. He and his staff work year-round. It shows in the success they have year-in and year-out."
Trap Game
"This week presents a trap game for us. Last week was a very fun experience for our players. We played very well and we worked very hard last week. Now, you have to be very mature and go back to work for a very good team. Add to that, the temptation, by some, to look ahead to Cedar Bluff. That would be a grave mistake. Sometimes as a coach, you have to be a bad guy to them to maintain focus."
Offense Projected Starting Lineup:
X Edgar Padilla 11

Notes: The junior high and b-team got rained out this week and did not play...This will the Panthers first game at Jacksonville State University...With the starting defense still in the game, Collinsville has not given up any points. Points were given up when the Panthers have played b-team and junior high in each game...Collinsville is 23-4 in this decade...Collinsville is 26-4 in the last 30 games...1A Region 7 has four teams 3-0 and four teams 0-3...In two previous meetings, the two teams are 1-1 with both teams scoring 51 points...Collinsville was 9th in last weeks 1A top ten.
Quoting Coach Beckett:
On the Woodville game
"The good thing is that we played lots of people. The bad thing is the varsity didn't play long. It was out of hand too quick. With less than 15 offensive plays, we were in the 40's. No need to get anyone hurt."
On Sumiton Christian
"They are coming down from 2A and will be very good. DeMonte Hobbs and Austin Clark are very good football players. Nobody has slowed the two down yet. It will be very tough."
"Defensively they give you lots of pressure with stunts. They play lots of people so fatigue isn't a issue. Coach Blevins does a very good job."
On playing at Jacksonville State
"Our kids are euphoric to get to play at JSU. I've negotiated at several different venues the last couple years. We finally found the right fit. It is something the players will always remember. Paul Snow Stadium is really nice after they refurbished it."
"This venue is a great way to sale our program to younger players. Sometimes other's don't realize how today's players are very motivated by facilities."

"Our linemen played well, linebackers played well and we threw it well."
On Woodville

Quoting Coach Beckett:
On last week's game:
"We got to start 18 players. We've never been able to do that. Lots of guys got playing time (over 40) and we came out injury free. It was good to see CJ have a good night. With the exception of two reads, he had a good night. The ball was spread around to 11 players on offense and our linebackers got much need snaps."
On the game being close early
"We are like a boxer who will go 15 rounds. We are not as proned to knock someone out in the first round with big plays. We will try to wear opponents down over the course of the game.."
On Jacksonville Christian Coach Tommy Miller:
"Dr. Tommy Miller does a great job as head coach. It is hard to respect someone more than Dr. Miller. He serves as principal and coach. His teams are sound in what they do. He gets the most from his players."
On Jacksonville Christian:
"Tailback Dakota Crook (#1) runs the football hard and quarterback Daylon Brackett (#22)makes them go."
"JCA is coming off a big win over Woodville and will have a big crowd."
"They run a multiple defense and pro "I" offensively. JCA won't beat themselves and force you to beat them."
Collinsville Staff:
"When I came there we had two coaches. Now we have a big group. Coach Edwards does a great job with the defense. Teddy Helms and my dad are invaluable because they've been there. Cole Owens, Lee Orr and Chuck Dutton do a great job teaching technique and Mike McElrath keeps the guys going. Donny Stevens has been a jack of all trade that has helped us in so many ways. He's really jumped in. Jeff Stanley has been a great motivator and team player. I'm VERY picky about who comes in but these guys have accepted the roles I've given them and bought in."
